Quick Instructions for Cassia alone:
Collect hair from your brush to do a test before applying to the hair on your head. Warning: if you live in an area with hard water, the minerals can react with cassia to create icky colours. Collect hair from your brush & test with that first! Washing with a clarifying shampoo first is recommended.
Mix Cassia with an acidic liquid (lemon juice, apple, orange, cranberry) or distilled water + cream of tartar. Add enough liquid to make a thick yogurt consistency. Cover airtight with plastic wrap (pressed against the Cassia paste). Let site for 8 hours in a warm area (around 70 F or 20 C.) Apply the paste to the hair, coating all hair completely like thick icing a cake. Cover the hair with plastic wrap or a plastic bag and leave the paste on hair for 4 - 6 hrs. Rinse very well, no need to shampoo. If hair feels rough from the acidic liquid, follow up with a conditioner to smooth the hair follicles.
Leftovers can be stored in the freezer.
To use as a shampoo: mix as above, but only apply to your scalp & leave on at least 20 minutes. Cassia powder with distilled water until like thick yogurt, cover with plastic wrap & let sit 2 hours. Apply as above but leave it in for only 20 minutes. A 20 minute application to the scalp 2 - 3 days a week can replace a chemical shampoo regiment for most people.
* If you live in a region with hard water (high mineral content), the minerals can build up in the hair, which reacts with cassia. When dissolved minerals react with cassia, it can turn hair green, dark brown or a green-black. Always collect hair from your brush as do a test before using cassia on the scalp. If hard water is a problem, wash hair with a clarifying shampoo & rinse with distilled water. Then collect that washed hair from your brush for a test to make sure there's no minerals reacting with the cassia.

Excellent, high quality product, as always!
I started purchasing this because the henna was relaxing my curls. This has helped my curls keep their shape when I mix with my henna.
By far my favorite products to use when coloring my hair. They leave me with healthy, shiny and vibrant tresses. Always a good shopping experience & definitely recommend.
I color my hair with a mix of Cassia Henna and Amla and I love the strawberry blond color it gives to my gray hair and I also love it because it calms itchiness ! I recommend totally
